I'm trying to make this look like an explosion instead of LOL GREY. Ideas?

I would color the grey parts orange and then the darker grey parts red. And then make the sky black/dark grey. idk if that'll work though but if you try it other people might know how to fix it from there.

I... am not really an expert on this, but I'd try to experiment with some shades in the red-yellow range around the edges.

RED AND YELLOW AMONGST THE GREY, BROSEF. Dark the dark portions with a burn tool, if you have to.
